3 minute read

If you have a vagina, or have a partner with one, it’s important to know the ins-and-outs of the pussy: How to keep it clean, free of infections, and smelling as it should. It’s also important to learn how to make a pussy feel good, which can be accomplished with certain techniques. Read this article to learn all about keeping a pussy healthy and feeling good.

How deep is a vagina?

The vagina is two to four inches long when not sexually aroused. When aroused the vagina tissues become more flexible and the depth can expand to four to eight inches.

Why do I have an itchy vagina?

There are plenty of reasons why your vagina might itch. A yeast infection or Bacterial Vaginosis are common causes of an itchy vagina, and can be treated with medication. Itching could also be from a sensitivity to your laundry detergent or shower products. Some sexually transmitted infections may also cause vaginal irritation. If you have intense or persistent itching please see a doctor.

How to clean your vagina

The inside of the vagina is self-cleaning, don’t put soap or intimate washes inside as these can upset the pH balance. The outside genital area (vulva) should be washed regularly with warm water. You can use plain water or can use a gentle unscented soap or wash. Use a cloth or detachable shower head to wash between skin folds.

How to shave your vagina

Carefully trim hair first with a trimmer or small scissors. Use a gentle unscented shaving foam and a good quality razor (not a disposable one). Shave in the same direction as the hair and be careful not to cut yourself. Try standing, sitting or squatting positions too, and maybe add a mirror. Note that while some people like a shaven look and feel, others are all about the hair. Whatever your preference happens to be, is the right one.

Why does my vagina smell?

Despite what marketing ads might have us believe, the vagina is not supposed to smell like roses. All vaginas have a particular smell that varies by person, and by stages of the menstrual cycle. Not a bad smell, just a natural vagina smell. If, however the smell is strong, fishy and unpleasant, or if the smell changes, this may be a sign of an infection such as Bacterial Vaginosis.

How to make your vagina smell good
  1. Don’t wash inside your vagina. Just wash outside because washing inside can upset natural balances and cause smell.
  2. Treat any infections such as yeast infection or Bacterial Vaginosis.
  3. Smell changes over the menstrual cycle - pay attention to when it smells stronger or milder.
  4. Take a shower.
  5. Eat plenty of fruits and veggies, keep hydrated, and limit cigarettes and alcohol.
What does pussy taste like?

The vulva typically has a musky, somewhat acidic kind of taste. It may taste a bit sour, salty, or metallic. Everybody is different and the taste also varies with different stages of the menstrual cycle. Genitals are not meant to taste like candy, they have their own natural taste.

How to eat pussy

Start slowly and gently and increase speed and pressure as arousal rises. The tongue can be used on just the clit or the whole vulva. Teasing and experimenting can feel great at first, but a consistent rhythm and pressure is key to orgasm. Most important: follow their instructions and watch for body language cues.

How to tighten vagina

If you’d like to be able to grip more tightly with your vagina muscles, then kegel exercises are the way to go. These exercises improve tone and control of the pelvic muscles. However, they’re not suitable for everyone, so check with a health care provider first if you have any concerns.

How to make a pocket pussy

There are a number of ways to make a DIY penis masturbation sleeve. Some of the most simple methods involve a rolled or folded towel with a rubber glove inside. Remember to use plenty of lube!

Anyone with a vagina, or anyone who’s interacted with vaginas, should have some basic knowledge about how they work, how they stay clean, and what they should taste and smell like. Learning some techniques to make a vagina feel good can also come in handy to you and/or a partner. In the case of the pussy, the more you know, the happier your vag will be.
