‍Guys, you may not realize how hot you really are.

Sometimes, a man is at his most sexy when he’s not even trying. As many people who are attracted to men will tell you, the traditionally sexy physicalities of a man are only part of the equation. There are so many other quirks men do that shouldn’t be sexy, but are. 

To find out what some of those little things are, we scrounged Reddit to find the top 20 non-sexy things men do that are actually super hot. 

1. Eye contact.

No, not just sexy, smouldering eye contact, but simple, everyday eye contact. “You are automatically a more attractive person if you can look me in the eye during a discussion,” one person commented on a 2015 Reddit thread about what makes a guy most attractive. 

2. Rolling up their dress shirt sleeves.

In a 2017 Reddit thread, several people said there was nothing sexier than a guy rolling up the sleeves of his button-down shirt to get down to business. Rolling up the sleeves reveals something else that’s pretty hot … 

3. Those veiny forearms.

For whatever reason, people who are attracted to men sometimes love seeing those veins popping from a dude’s forearms. Maybe it’s biological — maybe we’re attracted to any symbol of strength. But, whatever the reason, the veins on arms, thick or skinny, are where it’s at.

4. Taking initiative to do the little things.

In 2018, a Reddit user wrote that they love when guys “take initiative to do something as little as wash a dish you forgot to wash.” Doing minor chores makes a big impression.

5. Playing with kids.

Watching a guy play with a child can be a mega turn on, even for those who don’t want kids. It’s just nice to see someone who isn’t afraid to get silly and show their softer side. 

6. When they stretch and you get a glimpse of their stomach.

“Oh man, I love it when you can see the waistband of their underwear and stomach when they stretch,” one Redditor wrote. Another person agreed, saying it’s super hot when guys stretch and their “v-line” is revealed. 

7. Flashing a half smile.

A cheeky smirk; a sneaky reaction to something funny you just said; flashing a half smile is just so good. “Half smiles. Idfk why. But yeah,” said one Redditor. 

8. Talking in a sleepy voice.

A sleepy voice is a bit lower and slower. It’s like all guys turn into Matthew McConaughey for a few minutes after waking up, and it’s glorious.

9. Running their fingers through their hair.

“Especially when they’re doing it subconsciously, like while thinking, or after working out to get the sweat off their forehead,” commented a Redditor in 2018. 

10. Their scent.

With over 15,000 upvotes, one Reddit user said, “I don't even mean wear cologne — just don't stink. The smell of my husband's deodorant (even after a long day of just being deodorized) can do it for me.” Maybe it’s pheromones, but the right scent is always a win.

11. That slight touch, or even that non touch.

If your significant other, or someone you’re seeing, guides you through a crowd by gently touching your lower back, that’s kind of really hot. “PERSONALLY, I don’t mind when a man passing by in a crowd does this to me, but that’s not to say everyone is cool with that,” one Redditor clarified. “Do this to your [partner] and your [partner] only to avoid upsetting anyone.” 

12. Wearing a suit. 

In a 2015 Reddit thread, someone commented that “a well-fitted suit on a man is dreamy.” And getting that thing tailored to a T pays off.

13. Offering emotional support.

“Whenever I'm having a bad day, or worried about something, my boyfriend is always there for me, telling me that everything will be fine or just letting me vent to him,” one Redditor wrote. “Even when I'm in a bad mood, I get a little turned on lol.”

14. Asking for consent.

While asking for consent should be a given, it’s still incredibly attractive. If a guy asks if it’s okay for him to kiss you, hold your hand, touch you here, touch you there, it’s always a noble and sexy move.

15. Talking about their passions.

“I love finding out an interest of theirs, and then it's like bam — they start genuinely smiling and their eyes light up when talking about it,” one Redditor wrote. Finding out what gets a person excited is exciting, and shows that they have a drive to do something they love.

16. Hands, hands, all kinds of hands.

In a 2018 Reddit thread, someone commented that hands are their biggest turn on. “Rough hands... Strong, sexy I know how to use my hands well, kind of hands,” they wrote. Someone else simply wrote, “HANDS,” and that’s all we need to know!

17. Wearing a cable knit sweater.

Did you see the hype surrounding Chris Evans wearing that cable knit in Knives Out? It happened for a reason — a man in a chunky sweater does something for a lot of people out there. 

18. Wearing a plain black T-shirt.

“Wearing a plain black T-shirt. No idea why, but man do I love my husband in a plain black tee,” one Reddit user said. It’s just sophisticated simplicity. Looking good without trying hard.

19. When they’re fixing truly anything.

“I find guys that can fix anything and everything attractive,” wrote a Redditor. Another person added that it wasn’t until they saw their boyfriend under a car with grease-covered that they understood the attraction.

20. When they love their pet (or yours).

Seeing men play and give love to animals is similar to watching men play with kids. Being a witness to their softer side, or seeing their walls go down if they change their voice to a higher pitch when talking to animals, is just so darn cute. 

The bottom line

None of the things listed above are inherently sexy, but all can be huge turn-ons. When a man we’re attracted to has the audacity to show up in a button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up, fix a car with a kid on his hip, all while half smiling, we’ll pretty much fall in love.
